I had the pleasure of testing Prodipe's stereo ribbon mic (Ludovic Lanen RSL).
The 'Y' lead is supplied, which helps make the wiring amazingly simple. When connected to my Neve 4081 preamp (with the level raised - ribbon mics don't have a high level), I enjoyed an extremely warm sound with crisp, non-aggressive highs and a vintage feel that would take your breath away.
The stereo 'positioning' is very natural and you feel like you're rediscovering a piece of music. I've used it to record my Dobros, and the composer I was working with just loved the softness and warmth of the sound.
It's also very pleasant when listening to certain vintage style acoustic sounds.
And it's great as an ambiance mic placed a little way from acoustic instruments to inject that extra softness to the whole.

For my home-studio and for all my recordings, I use the range of Prodipe mics which I find extraordinary.
I know the skills of sound engineer of Ludovic Lanen and I am not surprised that his collaboration with Prodipe is also effective! Then, for me, Prodipe represents a new major brand.
I use the STC-3D MK2 and the A1 Duo, as well as the RSL. For my studio monitors, I opted for the Pro 8 which are a real success.

The monitors and mics by Prodipe get me the sound I’ve always been after.
In my studio, I use the Prodipe Monitoring Pack (the Pro 10S subwoofer and the Pro 5 and Pro 8 speakers). This system allows me to monitor at low volumes without suffering from ear fatigue, and create the mixes I need. As Technology Coordinator of the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto), I use the same monitoring system and mics ( STC-3D MK2 Lanen, RSL Lanen and TT1 Lanen).
At the Conservatory, we record everything from solo performances to full orchestras, and our Prodipe equipment is part of the tools we use to consistently deliver quality recordings.
For live performances, I love the sound of the TT1, a truly quality dynamic mic. For softer, more velvety recordings, I always use the RSL Lanen ribbon mic."

The ribbon microphone is an old dream of producer and sound engineer unfortunately often inaccessible due to its high price.
The R.S.L stunned me! It offers performances similar to the great mythical references of tape microphones: softness, roundness, warm sounds and the very natural restitution of the instruments.
On a guitar or any other acoustic instrument rich in harmonics, this microphone restores with incredible precision the purity of the timbre and the presence of the instrument.
The PRODIPE R.S.L fills a cruel lack on this type of microphone, and for the price, I think that no studio or home studio can do without it!

I've been really impressed by Prodipe's range of products.
After using some of their mics and monitors, I can't speak highly enough of them. Definitely a must for all hard-to-please musicians.
With this price and this quality, there's absolutely nothing stopping us getting the best equipment for our studios.
Excellent work, Prodipe!

Sound Engineer
In my professional backline work I’ve often come across Messrs Lanen and Salmiéri, whose musicianship has always earned my greatest respect. So I’ve kept a close watch on their journey with the French brand Prodipe. And I’ve been able to see for myself that Prodipe creates products of exceptional quality which I now use every day in the studio and on the backline.
When you test a Prodipe product, you recognise that the quality flowing from Claude Salmiéri and Ludovic Lanen’s skills is the same quality you would expect from a major brand. Prodipe has provided a solution to the age-old problem: “Why do we have one level of sound quality for pros and another for everyone else?”
I’ve been using Prodipe in every imaginable studio and backline situation, with well-known performers who are often enthusiastic about the standard of the equipment.
The third millennium will belong to the clever and the bold. Congratulations to Prodipe for being both.

I am amazed by the R.S.L!
To make my acoustic piano recordings I had always had the habit of placing different pairs of Germanic microphones, but when I heard the rendering of the R.S.L, I was amazed!
All the qualities of a ribbon microphone are found in this microphone: the natural capture of harmonic subtleties, precision, velvety and total respect for timbres thanks to an almost linear response curve, and in addition, all in stereo!
I now prefer the R.S.L for my recordings of acoustic instruments, but also in ambience for a drums or a guitar amp.
I am convinced that in its category, given its super attractive price and its qualities, this microphone will become essential and meet the expectations of many musicians and studios.

I chose Prodipe for my accordions. The R.S.L Lanen in the studio and the AL21 Romanelli pack on stage.
With the help of a friend, an excellent sound engineer, we compared them in the studio with other major reference brands, and it is clear that the AL21s did not suffer in any way from this experience.
Except that the selling price is divisible by five and that I found the manufacturing quality of the accessories much more serious: case, wiring, connections ... It's up to you to hear it ...
A big bravo and a big thank you to Roland, Ludovic and the entire Prodipe team for this great job.
