    My philosophy

Music is fun and conviviality above all! My learning doesn't just give joy to my clients or students, it also gives me joy.

I work in a rigorous and serious way so that we enrich ourselves with new experiences over the course of the meetings. It takes effort, but at the same time generates a lot of enthusiasm. When a spark hits us, we have achieved our goal.

Come and visit me! I will soon have the pleasure of counting you among my acquaintances and contributing to the emergence of your project. You will thus discover my methods of acquiring sound practice and I will have the satisfaction of passing on my experience to you.

  • Paul Spade

    Composer - Producer - Guitarist

Producer, director and musician, Paul Spade is also the guitarist of the band Kerozen.

Producer, director and musician, Paul Spade is also the guitarist of the band Kerozen.

KEROZEN are a French rock group whose lyrics are in English. Their music is defined by a keen sense of melody and the raw power of modern rock. They are fans of Guns'n'Roses and Aerosmith, also more recent bands like Nickelback, Foo Fighters and Airbourne. The group has forged a strong musical identity, and are now considered to be THE French rock revelation.

The group was founded by singer/songwriter, Nicolas Blaizeau, and producer/composer/guitarist, Spade. In the summer of 2012, they put together their first track: Whitejack. After finishing the recording, they produced a black and white video to accompany the song.

In the video we see the band performing as if they were live on stage. Whitejack is the perfect vehicle for Spade's distinctive guitar sound and Nicolas Blaizeau's stonking vocals. The clip was an instant success, first on social networks, then on YouTube, with 17,000 views. Since then the group have received offers from various labels (GDW/BackUp Records/M&O/London). Their debut single was played on FM radio stations and internet radio all over Europe.

After getting such a positive reaction, the two performers followed their gut instinct and made their first full album. The rest of the band came on board just before the final recording of the album: Tib' on bass guitar, Stef on rhythm guitar and Seb on the drums. Talented musicians, and all with an electrifying stage presence.

  • Roger Biwandu

    Drummer

Roger Biwandu, a self-taught drummer, is one of the greatest jazz musicians of his generation.

Roger Biwandu, a self-taught drummer, is one of the greatest jazz musicians of his generation.

    Roger 'Kemp' Biwandu
was born on 25th December 1972 in a taxi in Bordeaux. He was bitten by the drum bug at the end of the 1970s after the emergence of groups like The Police and Toto, whose drummers, Stewart Copeland and Jeff Porcaro, revolutionised drum playing at the time.

He went on tour at a very young age with Biréli Lagrène (only 16 years old), Pierre Vassiliu (18 years old) and Jacques Higelin (22 years old), and has also been involved with local groups like Post Image, who celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2007, and Tribal Jam (Roger is the musical director).

After gaining a reputation nationwide, particularly with Chic Hot (Mario Canonge on the piano), Roger was subsequently invited to play with two of France's leading jazz fusion groups, Sixun and Ultramarine, filling in for the iconic drummers, Paco Séry and Mokhtar Samba, who were committed to projects elsewhere.

Having had the chance to record with performers like The Hansons, Narada Michael Walden, Chris De Burgh, I Muvrini, Carole King, Kéziah Jones, and the great Jeff Beck, Roger saw his reputation as a big time drummer confirmed when the legendary Joe Zawinul (RIP) invited him on four tours, one of which included the presence of no less than Bobby McFerrin. The last of these tours took place in the US during October/November 2006.

Roger Biwandu has also worked with Frank McComb, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Marcus Miller, Michel Jonasz, John Beasley, Andy Narell, Womack & Womack, Mark Tuner, John Stubblefield (RIP), James (RIP), the dancer, Hamid Ben Mahi (Hors Série company), etc.

While on a world tour with the Malian singer, Salif Keita, from October 2005 to July 2009, Roger finally fulfilled his dream of recording an album of his own music. Influences, the album by Roger 'Kemp' Biwandu, finally saw the light of day in 2007. With this album we can truly appreciate his undoubted talents as a drummer, composer and arranger, and his passion for rugby.

In 2009, his second album, From Palmer, was released (Palmer is the part of Bordeaux where Roger grew up). He then moved into the progressive Hard Bop jazz style, in the footsteps of his friends and mentors, Jeff 'Tain' Watts and Branford & Wynton Marsalis - have a listen to their new album.

In the beginning, Roger was a great admirer of Stewart Copeland and Jeff Porcaro and still is, but since then we have to add these maestros to his list: Jeff 'Tain' Watts, Vinnie Colaiuta, Les All Blacks, James Taylor, Phillip D. 'Fish' Fisher, Wayne Shorter, Omar Hakim, Le Stade Toulousain, Branford & Wynton Marsalis, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Kenny Kirkland and Sting, to name but a few.

They also took these plays all over Europe.

In 2008 he penned his first musical, Barbara, 20 years of love, in recognition of "the lady I owe everything to". The première took place at the Théâtre de Paris and was performed to glowing reviews throughout Paris and the provinces. He and his muse, Rébecca, planned other forays into the musical scene. One of these projects, Les Nuits d'une Demoiselle (The nights of a young lady) with Pierre Hébertot, an anthology of saucy, burlesque songs saw the light of day in 2010.

In 2011 he returned to his instrument of choice, the accordion, and its lesser known little brother, the accordina, to play jazz, especially with top drummer Claude Salmiéri and Fred Manoukian's Big Band.
